Home purchase: signing the notarial deed electronically

Go forward with great strides the progressive digitization process of the majority of the acts and documents.

The most recent step has just been launched by the Council of Ministers: it is the legislative decree that allows the signing of the deed for the purchase of a property via the Internet.

The procedure is very simple, though, for obvious reasons of sensitivity of the matter, it was necessary to a thorough examination.

In essence, the taxpayer goes to the solicitor, and perfects the act of trust, using an electronic signature (even if not qualified). The notary will draw up the deed on your computer, it will read to those present for confirmation and shall affix his seal (as immaterial).

What is the benefit? To buy a home in Naples or Turin, the citizen resident in Rome or Milan will not have to leave the confines of his city, any notary on national soil will in fact be authorized to draw up the deed, possibly in collaboration with a colleague of the destination city .

It is worth pointing out that the electronic procedure, to date, is only an option alternative to ordinary paper road: it will be interesting to see how many people will trust the new solution, abandoning the more traditional and reassuring physical act.

In fact, it will not immediately possible to apply via the deed digital will have to wait, in fact, launching in the coming months of one or more decrees which define especially the more technical aspects, such as the immutability of documents and the storage conditions acts (which should still be kept by the same National Council of Notaries).

It will then be necessary to organize a minimum of training for notaries, who in recent years are required to reduce the use of pens and stamps and acquire a lot more familiar with computers and the web.
